Notice of Aerial Herbicide Application
As part of our ongoing forest management program, please be advised that Irving Woodlands LLC will be conducting aerial herbicide spraying to control competing vegetation for young, planted stands. All areas to be treated have been notified with the Board of Pesticides Control, the Maine Poison Control Center, and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
The program will be conducted between July 15, 2026 and September 15, 2026 on selected current and future plantations. Each treatment area will be closed to the public during the operation but re-opened when the operation is complete. Informational signs will be posted at all normal entrances to the treatment areas. The public is asked to respect the signs and stay out of the posted areas until the herbicide has dried and to not eat the berries where posted. The products to be used are Imazapyr 4SL, Aquamaster, Orion Release, Novita MSO, Oust XP, Esplanade SC and Escort XP. These work as selective herbicides that suppress the development of raspberries, grass and other competing brush species growing in young softwood planted stands.
Treatment will occur on selected, cleared sites within the following townships : Ashland, Caswell, Cyr Plt, Dudley Twp, Eagle Lake, Hamlin, Hammond, Masardis, Merrill, New Canada, Oxbow Plt, Perham, Portage Lake, Saint Croix Twp, Saint Francis, Saint John Plt, Smyrna, Stockholm, T10 R6 WELS, T12 R8 WELS, T12 R9 WELS, T13 R11 WELS, T13 R7 WELS, T13 R9 WELS, T14 R10 WELS, T14 R11 WELS, T14 R12 WELS, T14 R6 WELS, T14 R7 WELS, T14 R8 WELS, T14 R9 WELS, T15 R10 WELS, T15 R11 WELS, T15 R12 WELS, T15 R5 WELS, T15 R6 WELS, T15 R8 WELS, T16 R12 WELS, T16 R13 WELS, T16 R4 WELS, T16 R8 WELS, T16 R9 WELS, T17 R12 WELS, T17 R13 WELS, T17 R14 WELS, T17 R3 WELS, T17 R4 WELS, T17 R5 WELS, T18 R13 WELS, T7 R5 WELS, T7 R6 WELS, T8 R3 WELS, T8 R5 WELS, T8 R6 WELS, T9 R3 WELS, T9 R4 WELS, TC R2 WELS, Wallagrass, Webbertown Twp, Westmanland.
