PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR POSITION
The Town of Houlton is reopening its search for qualified applicants for the position of PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the Public Works Department, which includes highways, sidewalks, storm drains, local bridges, the flight surfaces/grounds at the airport, and urban and rural forestry. Work involves personnel management, good communication skills, preparation and administration of the departmental budget, capital planning, fleet management, labor relations and the scheduling of departmental activities and projects.
Minimum requirements: An associate's degree in civil engineering or related field. Five years of progressively responsible experience in administering public works, and/or engineering functions. Must possess a valid Maine driver's license with a CDL endorsement.
